Welcome to The Gentle Start — calm, practical and evidence-informed antenatal education for you and your birth partner.

Our small-group, midwife-led antenatal courses in Galway are designed to help you feel informed, prepared and more confident as you approach labour, birth and those first days with your baby.

Preparing for the birth you may have

One of the things I'm passionate about is helping expectant parents understand their options — because preparing for birth isn't about trying to make everything go perfectly to plan.

During The Gentle Start course, we'll explore the different paths birth can take and help you think about your preferences, what matters to you and the choices you may be offered along the way.
You'll also learn how your birth partner can support you, ask questions and advocate alongside you when decisions need to be made.

The aim isn't to prepare for one perfect birth. It's to help you both feel informed and prepared for whatever path your birth takes.

A calm space to learn, practise & prepare together 🤍

A gentle, informed approach to birth

At The Gentle Start, education is shared with kindness, respect, and evidence at its core. We believe confidence grows when parents feel informed, supported, and empowered to make choices that are right for them.
